How to get started
1. Start with a premise
Describe the central situation in one or two sentences.
2. Give the character a goal
Decide what the main character wants and why it matters.
3. Introduce a conflict
Add an obstacle, difficult choice or misunderstanding that changes the situation.
4. Build cause and effect
Make each important event influence what happens next.
5. Write and revise the ending
Resolve the main conflict in a way that fits the character and the story's setup.
Example
A student finds a lost notebook before an important competition. The story can follow the student's decision to return it, the complications that arise and the outcome of that choice.
